History

Seth Dolk and his son, Stanley, founded Dolk Tractor Company in 1948. This father and son team picked Rio Vista, Ca as the location to start their Oliver Tractor dealership. Set in the heart of the Sacramento River Delta, the Rio Vista area has been a fertile farming region for decades.

By 1960, Stanley had taken over the business full time as the Oliver name continued to grow in popularity. As Dolk Tractor grew, Stanley decided to expand his facilities – adding a large service building on the same lot where the Company stands today. After a decade of building a successful business, Stanley’s son Rod joined the Dolk Tractor team.

During the 1970’s, the Dolks saw their business change. The White Corporation bought out Oliver, and Dolk Tractor decided to add the Versatile tractor line to meet the changing needs of the farming community.

By 1981, Stanley had retired and Rod expanded the company with a more diverse product line. The Kubota tractor line and Honda generator brand were added, along with others. A greater selection of larger tractors also were made available after The Ford Corporation’s tractor division bought out Versatile Tractor. Also in 1985, Rod’s wife Vicky joined the Company as the office manager.

During the 1990’s, the Kubota line became increasingly popular, helping Dolk Tractor respond to the needs of small ranch owners. By the end of the nineties, Dolk Tractor provided a diverse line of equipment to meet every farming need, including Kubota Tractors, New Holland Tractors (formerly Ford), and Agco Tractors (formerly White).

In 2003, Rod and Vicky’s son Rick joined the Dolk Tractor team. With over 18 employees, a statewide customer base, and over 60 years of agricultural equipment experience, Dolk Tractor has begun the 21st century a respected dealer in this ever-changing marketplace. Together, the Dolk family is striving to continue providing the best and most diverse service they can provide.
